Born and raised in England, Ally has always carried a love for movement & somatic practices. She began practising yoga in 2001 and has been teaching yoga since 2006. Her first class was an Ashtanga yoga class & to her surprise, she loved how the practice made her feel relaxed, centred, and strong in her body. However, it wasn't until she faced life challenges that she experienced the jewels of yoga, & she has never looked back.
Yoga has helped Ally to find a practice that has supported her through the grace and challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting. She has found healing after injury, and relief from Endometriosis, pelvic and hip pain & emotional trauma. Through her insights, study and practice, she has learned over the years that everything is connected, and cultivating a strong foundation is essential. She loves sharing & exploring yoga practices with others so they too can create a practice that supports them.
She is certified to teach Ashtanga Yoga - Paul Dallaghan, Neil Barker, Harmony Slater, and Jeff Lichty. Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga - Juliette Kurth & Patti Asaad, Restorative Yoga - Jillian Pransky & Pelvic Floor Yoga - Leslie Howard. She has over 1000 hours of teaching experience, is E-RYT & has studied with Sharath Jois at KPJAYI in India. She’s taught yoga in London (UK), Sydney (AUS), and Los Angeles (USA), has taught yoga privately in people’s homes, in Yoga Shala’s (Yoga Shala West, LA & Ashtanga Yoga Space, AUS) and at highly acclaimed spaces (Sydney Opera House & Los Angeles Staple Center) and now resides in Dallas with her husband and 3 children.
Before studying yoga, Ally studied Contemporary Dance at one of London's leading dance schools, LABAN, completing the BA Honors Dance Theatre Degree. Here, she was introduced to somatic movement theories: Laban Movement Analysis & Body Mind Centering to name a few, and spent time exploring & sensing human movement; all of which support her teachings today.
A Personal Touch - My yoga is a place for me to unravel, connect & feel grounded. My 3 children are truly my teachers, constantly reminding me of my forgotten self.
