Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga yoga

This is a therapeutic & dynamic form of yoga where the student learns a set sequence of postures. These postures are given a gazing point (Drishti) and are linked together by the breath creating a steady rhythm as the student moves throughout the practice. Each breath is counted by the teacher, however not each breath is accounted for. The student slowly learns the postures according to their readiness and over time the practice becomes a moving meditation allowing the mind to turn inwards and to quietly listen to the sound of the breath.

The practice provides space for deep healing for the student to learn at their own pace giving time for the body to open up gently.
