Have you ever thought about the story of your pelvis?
Whether your story holds the experience of pregnancy, childbirth, an accident, surgery, infection, illness, or trauma (to name a few); all stories can impact the health of the pelvis and the muscles attached, called the Pelvic Floor. These muscles support almost every movement we make, thus can impact not only the pelvis but our whole self. They support our organs above (bladder, bowel, and uterus in females), and contain a passage for the urethra, rectum & sex organs; they rely on good breathing and posture to maintain optimum health.
Pelvic Floor Yoga is a therapeutic practice which draws upon yoga postures, breath work and self inquiry, and welcomes these stories with an open heart and clear understanding. Pelvic Floor Yoga gives us an opportunity to be a part of our own healing, cultivating a sense of empowerment.
